President’s Message

On behalf all of our club members, I personally welcome you to our official website. We are proud to be part of Zonta International, a service organization working to eliminate violence against women and to improve the economic, educational, health, youth development, legal, and political status of women. I encourage you to browse this site and to learn about the numerous endeavors we are embarking upon to bring about local and international change.

We became an official club in 1970. This would not have been possible without the staunch leadership of our founding members, the support of Hamilton I Zonta club, and then the acceptance by the International board. The women who formed our club were and are outstanding leaders, and the tradition of strong leadership continues to this day. We are pleased with the “let’s get to it” attitude of our members and they have devoted countless volunteer hours toward promoting fellowship and good deeds throughout the community. Each year our club gives back to the community by organizing fundraising events and by supporting various local services including, but not limited to, women’s shelters and second stage services, settlement services for women, young girl’s empowerment day, soccer leagues, and children’s camps.

In addition to this, through our strong relationship and involvement with the United Nations, our members contribute to supporting our International services projects in Liberia, Rwanda, Guatemala and San Salvador, El Salvador, Cambodia, Nepal, Uganda, and Haiti. To learn more about our international and violence-against-women projects or to learn about the more than 68 clubs worldwide and almost 32,000 members, go to www.zonta.org our official international website.

Our club believes in our vision, which includes two of our most important values: fellowship and good-will. As you browse, please consider attending one of our events or joining us. I am very proud to be a member and to call our members friends.
